YOUR DONATED DOLLARS "WERE" NEEDED! WE MADE IT! WE RAISED ENOUGH MONEY FOR MARCUS!

Marcus's surgery was a very delicate procedure and we needed a specialist.

"Veterinary Surgical Specialists", Dr. Diane Craig DVM in Tustin performed his surgery on Tuesday, January 7, 2003  He now is with a family at last! He was adopted by a person who works at the hospital that did his surgery. "And they lived happily ever after"

The Marcus fund grew quickly to seventeen-hundred dollars ($1,700.00) to support Marcus, the little orange kitten with the diaphragmatic hernia. The group agreed to discount the surgery to fifteen hundred dollars($1,500.00) instead of twenty-five hundred ($2,500.00) so we could help other animals with any left over cash.

Many local people gave their veterinarians names for us to consider them doing the surgery. However we learned this type of surgery is normally performed on 6 mos. to year old animals. Marcus's case needed immediate attention from highly skilled veterinarians because there is a high risk for complications at this young age.

Marcus will need two weeks of healing time. Please call, or come by if you would like to be considered to be his new pet parent.

In the history of the organization we have never had so many local people come forward to help. We have titled a section of our web site, "A Bridge to Life" to publicize the names of the people who helped Marcus get his surgery. The hearts of many local people were touched by seeing the drawing indicating Marcus's problem with his intestines intertwining his heart and lungs.
